Introduction

Welcome to the most famous puzzle game of Neopia. Also known on some circles for DooM, its acronym is DoM and it is a revamp to the old, famous and loved Destruct-o-Match. Notice that it may not seem so but this is a puzzle game and so it's listed on the puzzle games section. ;)

Some major differences happen between the two versions (you can still play the first one at the Game Graveyard, but it won't give you any score): on the first you had to destroy small coloured houses. Here you have to destroy big coloured blocks. On the first you did not have special blocks and you just had a playing version. This means that the revamp is so much more fun! And it also gives a doomed avatar! (as soon as you can score 2500+ points)

Playing this game is easy: you'll have a series of coloured blocks that you need to gather and destroy. You can only destroy two or more blocks of the same colour and each destroyed block is worthy one point. To make great scores try to gather the greatest number of blocks possible.

Special Blocks

The countdown - This block will make a 15 second countdown and must be destroyed before it turns into an indestructible block

The Eraser - This one erases all the blocks of its colour. Attention: using this block will give you a score equivalent to the blocks were connected to it.

The ? - Will create a line on the upper part of the screen. The colours of the blocks on that line are the same as those still on screen.

The Exploder - Will destroy all the blocks around it. Only scores one point, it does not matter how many blocks you destroyed.

The Multiplier - Multiplies the score you get by destroying it by 3!

The Indestructible - Can't be destroyed except by an exploding block

Normal Mode

This is the version that everybody knows. To rise your score try to destroy your blocks on the following order:

  1. Destroy the countdown, no matter what
  2. Gather all the blocks of the same colour of the eraser. Destroy them and use the eraser.
  3. Destroy all the boulders except for: the ? and its partner; the multiplier and its partner; the exploder
  4. Destroy the ? and its partner
  5. Hopefully you will now have a screen only with blocks of the same colour as the multiplier. Destroy them all and get the nifty bonus
  6. Explode the exploder
Off course that this is very hard to do: we're not lucky every time. Anyway, try to follow this as rule and adapt it to the blocks you have. Also try to gather the highest number of them before destroying! (attention: if you are about to use the eraser and you still have a single two boulders don't destroy them unless they don't affect those you gathered around the eraser)

Try to start from the upper part and then going down. If you start from below you may not notice some combos and separate them.

If you finish up with an empty screen or with a single boulder type "destroyboulders" for a 250 point bonus.

Quit the game if you don't get a 200 or 250 bonus on the first 2 levels. It is impossible to achieve the avatar score without those bonuses, because the levels start to get very hard after the 5th or 6th.

This is the mode where you can get the avatar and it requires lots of training. The game seems very easy, and it is on the first two levels, but it gets harder and harder until it turns impossible.

Extreme Mode

Here the boulders appear from the ground and you must destroy them before they reach the top. You just need to click once on the boulder.

Start from below and try to be the most faster possible. When you clear the screen you get a bonus of 50 points and when you reach the 200 barrier the blocks start appearing faster. Around the 600 points other colours are inserted.

It's hard to get a good score on this one, but it is a nice game anyway.

Zen Mode

Works as the normal mode except that you just destroy the blocks and don't get any score. It is *supposed* to be stress relief.
