High Scores
By Cookie

So you've stumbled onto the High Scores section I see, well, that's a very interesting place. When you play a game, there is a place that says your all time high, and then the high for that month. Of course, when you look right next to that, there is the three highest scores. Those are the scores of people who have done phenomenal in that game, and have been able to be listed as one of the top people of that game.

(Here is an example of what the high scores are for Meerca Chase 2. You see your all time, then you see your highest for the month. Then right next to that is the three highest)

Please realize this though, getting a high score is not all easy. All of the people who have them work very hard towards getting them, so don't think that it just happens over night!

How do I get a High Score
First thing - getting any sort of high score is never easy. People spend hours and hours perfecting their skills on the games in order to get the scores they have. The only way you can really even come close to getting a high score, is if you practice!

In my opinion, practice makes things much easier. So the more you practice, the higher of a chance you'll have. Of course, there are just some games you're just not good at. Don't stress, there are plenty of games you can choose from. So find one that you enjoy.

Once you've found a game that you like, you can begin to practice hard at it. Spend loads of time on that single game, and try to figure out all the secrets of it you can. Learn all the aspects, and every inch of that game. The more you know, the more prepared you can be for when you'd like to achieve a high score.

What Do I Get from Getting a High Score?
There are many things that you can get, physical, and not. If you ever get into one of the top three places, you will get a trophy on your profile for whichever game you played. However, some games don't have trophies, which is unfortunate.

Another thing that you get from getting a high score is neopoints from TNT. I suppose that this is them giving you props for getting such a good score! Granted, it isn't an insane amount, but it's better than nothing.

Besides the trophy though, if you get into the top spots of all the people who've played that game, your username gets displayed for all people to see. This can be a great thing, if you like it. However, I have heard from some people who've gotten high scores, that they get bombarded with neomails. But, it must be nice to have fame for your high score.

Ranks
  • First Place ( 1st-3rd ) - Gold Trophy and 750 Neopoints
  • Second Place ( 4th-8th ) - Silver Trophy and 500 Neopoints
  • Third Place ( 9th-17th ) - Bronze Trophy and 250 Neopoints
Do high scores Change?
On the first of every month, the high scores are changed. This gives most of us easier times to get a high score, though there are many others working at it as well, so you never know what place you might end up getting.

Do I Only Get Rewarded Once?
Many of you might be thinking that what's the point of the work if they only give you something once. Wrong. If you get a high score that stays up between the first position to the seventeenth, you will get rewarded neopoints for each night you are there. If you ever get knocked off the top 17, then you won't receive anymore neopoints. However, any trophies that you gain, you'll always keep.

Important Facts
  • Getting a high score isn't easy, it takes a lot of work, and most who have it might have been on neopets for a long time. That or they practice a lot.
  • Practice makes better. I won't say that it makes perfection, because there are just some games that doesn't happen. Though, it does give you a better chance.
  • If you don't get a high score in one game, don't worry. There are many other games for you to try, and do. However, not everyone is cut out to get high scores.
  • Don't freak yourself out, enjoy yourself! If you really want that high score, but are having a hard time doing it; don't stress. If you relax yourself, you're more likely to be clear headed and more able to do things, rather than when you're stressed.
So go on, take a gander at the high scores here.
